Toxicology is a field that we can study and understand about the things which have a potential to harm living organisms. The substances can be either living or no living. A definition for toxicology can be given as follow.

Toxicology is a field of science that helps us understand the harmful effects that chemicals, substances, or situations, can have on people, animals, and the environment.

For this semester we have to study about toxicology effects that are affecting on both human and animal lives. For an assignment, four of my friends and I had to collect data from students in our faculty about their health issues and related facts. So I would like to write about how it was going on and what we could gather from this survey. This is a fundamental social survey neither complex nor further laboratory analysis for practical data but we are satisfied with our assignment.

Introduction to the survey

For this, we conducted a social survey and analyzed the collected data to get an idea about the health state and factors for those. The survey was focused on mainly to gather symptoms from the students and they have been questioned to respond to non-communicable, short term and long term diseases. To complete the evidences for arranged diseases, we have covered the areas that may help us to predict what would be correlate with them. We went through basic personal health details, dietary habits, drinking water resources and its quality, district and agricultural performances. Most essentially, we tried to collect data to sums up the relationship between diseases and heavy metal toxicity. We have gone through heavy metal elevated methods within the students.

Results & Conclusion

We conducted an online survey, as it was the easiest and more efficient way to gather data from the students without physically reaching them. Two batches were selected. A self-completed questionnaire by letting students to fill and answer to questions themselves was conducted. An online question paper was prepared by including 34 questions under three sub topics. They were,

1. personal details
2. water resource and dietary habits
3. other details.

Collected data were calculated using odds ratio and we could identify three factors that is exceeding 1 with the case we considered. Two of these factors are related with agricultural performances within districts and the other is related with nutrient state of the students.

We considered more about acute and chronic diseases and symptoms which can be caused due to the heavy metal contaminations with peoples.

By looking the calculation, we can come up with a raw idea of that most of students can be contaminated with toxic substances either directly or indirectly.

Most of the times, agricultural run offs directly and highly contaminate with watershed areas and waters. Further, the major crops have been presented within districts gives a positive clue of higher usage of chemical pesticides and we can think those chemicals involuntarily contaminate with waters.

During the survey and data collecting, we have faced several difficulties. Some students seemed like that they did not prefer to tell their personal details in public survey .Some students have given inconceivable details to the questions in this survey. We used only young peoples and there is no enough time to show symptoms for chronic diseases.

Finally, we could do our survey up to some considerable level and we handed over the final data analysis report to the lecturer after two weeks later from due date. We hope that it will not be an issue with our final marks for the end semester examination haha.
