•Do you understand how voting and curation work on Steemit?

◾️Voting
Voting is a way of liking, appreciating, or endorsing a post and showing support to the author/creator of that post. On platforms like Youtube, Facebook, or Twitter, you like photos and posts that you find interesting, but on Steemit these like are referred to as upvotes and unlikes are referred to as downvotes. The 2 types of votes on Steemit are;
Upvote:🔼 This is to like or appreciate posts by clicking a button that looks like an arrow facing upwards.
Downvote: 🔽 **This is to unlike or unappreciated posts by clicking a button that looks like an arrow facing downwards.
NOTE: If you are a newcomer on Steemit with little Steem Power (SP), your Voting Power ( the weight of your vote) is weak. That means your votes will count but won’t add steem dollars ($BD) or rewards to a post.

◾️Curation
This is when an Upvote with a significant amount of Steem based dollars (SBD) is rewarded on a post by steemit curators or an account with high Voting Power.
Below are some Steemit curators I've seen upvote a post;
@Steemcurator01
@Steemcurator02
@Steemcurator03
@booming03
@booming01

NOTE: When curators upvote a post, 50% of the reward goes to them (the curators) as payment for their votes and the other 50% goes to the author of that post. This reward distribution depends on how much Steem Power (SP) the author has. The higher your Steem power, the higher your impact will be on the curation reward. The reason why it is very good to Power Up.

•What will happen if you select a post before 5 minutes after posting?

Above, I mentioned that when we upvote a post, half of the reward goes to the curator and the other half goes to the author of the post. But if we vote just before 5 minutes after the post is uploaded, the rewards will not be distributed evenly (50%-50%):
See table below;

TimeDistribution
1 MinuteCurator receives 20%, 80% remains in the rewards pool.
2 MinuteCurator receives 40%, 60% remains in the rewards pool.
3 MinuteCurator receives 60%, 40% remains in the rewards pool.
4 MinuteCurator receives 80%, 20% remains in the rewards pool.
5 Minute & afterCurator receives all 100% rewards.

•Who will you choose to be Steem Witness? and why did you choose him?

To vote for a Steem Witness, visit the Witness Voting page. On this page, you can only vote for an active witness and You are able to vote for only 30 witnesses.

I would be voting for @justyy, He is the developer of one of the most important Steem tools. @justyy created the Steem https://steemyy.com/. This tool can be used to manage and monitor your Steemit Account Information and so much more. See image below

•Which community will you join on this Steemit, and why are you following it?

I am already a member of some wonderful communities, and as time goes, I will discover and join other communities as well.

As a newcomer, the first community I joined on Steemit was the Newcomers' Community. This community made me understand some skills which are necessary on the Steem platform and how to navigate the Steemit platform. Now I understand how the Steemit network works.

I also joined CampusConnect for its campus-related posts in Nigeria and because I am a Nigerian.

Lastly, I wish to join the Steemit crypto academy community because of my interest in cryptocurrency.

Conclusion

I hope I was able to make you understand curation and communities. Thank you
