Greetings fellow steemians, I did my Achievement 1 a while ago and I have also been away due to pressing issues. But now I'm back to work on my Achievement 2 post.
I will love to share my understanding about the basic security keys on our beloved platform steemit and to also enlighten us about their functions and how to use them.
I have made some on various posts and articles on steemit and will like to share my own ideas on this topic

IMPORTANCE OF STEEMIT KEYS

Posting Keys

Posting Keys are private keys used to access personal account on steemit, it also makes it possible to carry out activities such as: Posting, commenting and voting on various posts in different steemit communities. This key also display other features such as muting and following of other steemit members. Though this key may seem to be of lesser security risk effect compared to other keys, it is still important that this key be kept safe and secret from anyone else.

Active Key

The active key grants all round access to your steemit account. It is used to execute various tasks such as: Powering up and powering down of steems , transfer of funds and also changing of personal keys

Memo keys

This key is also known as cryptography, it simply helps to encrypt or decrypt messages sent to your steemit account.

Owner key

This key can be used to retrieve your steemit account if their is any issue. It is the most important key and is advised to keep it strictly confidential. It is also known as the master key because it can be used to reset the other keys.

How to keep your owner key (master key) safe

The master key is so important that it should be kept secured at all time. To achieve this I made sure that I saved my keys on me Email accounts and on my smart drive

How to transfer steem token from one account to another.

Below the simple steps involved in the transfer of steem token to another account.

Step 1.

Log on your steemit account, then click on your profile, a row of link options will appears. You'll see the WALLET option just above the LOGOUT option.

Step 2.

If you're using a mobile phone, your steem balance will appear on the left side of your screen. Click on it and a column will slide down.

Step 3.

Click on the transfer button then a form will pop up on your screen.

Step 4.

Type in the username of the recipient and the amount you're sending

How to power up/down

Step 1

Go to your wallet and you'll see a heading STEEM POWER, just below it you will see your steem balance. Click on it, power down option will pop up, click on it

Step 2

Input the amount of steem you want to power down
