Achievement 2 @taddybrainy Task: Basic Security on Steem

Hi everyone, I'm @taddybrainy and this is my Achievement 2 post which is based on Basic Security, below are what I have learnt so far, and I hope to learn more as time goes on.

Question 1
Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?

Yes, I have retrieve all my keys, upon the completion of my registration I was given a master key password and asked to keep it safe and secure. Additional four keys were given to me, which consists of the Posting key, Active key, owner key and memo key. All these made it a total of five unique key assigned to me.

Question2
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Yes. I have read about then and their functions as well.

MASTER KEY: The master key is the overall key that can be used to retrieve other various keys and is only used occasionally.

POSTING KEY: The posting key as I got to understand it function, it is used to post articles, vote for other members, comment on post, edit post, follow other members and as well mute. This is the most used key among other keys.

ACTIVE KEY: My understanding about the function of Active key is that it is used for making transactions e.g. Transferring of funds and steems.

OWNER KEY: I also got to understand that the owner's key is used to change any key of an account.

MEMO KEY: Memo key to my understanding is the key that is used to encrypt and decrypt informations when transferring funds.

Question 3
How do you plan to keep your master password?

My Master Password is kept very safe, I wrote it on two different sheets, kept them in different locations as well. Another place where my Master key was kept is on my email, because I know that's a very safe place to keep my Key as no one has access to my email except myself.

Question 4
Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

I really didn't understand how to power up but I asked my friend @doppley who Introduced me to steemit and he explained to me. I now fully understand the entire process.

As stated earlier, the active key is required for this transaction.

Tap on your wallet to open the wallet page and click on the little arrow beside the steem as indicated in the picture above.

Choose transfer from the drop-down menu
Fill the form with the required information and hit next.

Your active key will be required and boom!!, your transaction is done within seconds.

Question 5
Do you know how to power up your STEEM?

Powering up helps you to increase the influence you make with your account in voting and curating.

Follow the steps as given above but this time, choose power up instead of transfer.

Fill the forms with the required information and hit next.
