What are Steemit keys?

Steemit keys can be described as unique keys which are self-generated that provides the owner of the account the power to login into a blog or Steemit wallet with high security. They are used for the encryption and decryption of data. For instance, these keys are like the password we use to log into Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other platform. But the main difference between Steemit keys and other social media platform keys is security. Steemit is more safe and secure as the password is self-generated by the system. The main file that should have access to you only is the file containing keys. If one loses the keys or the file, he loses access to the account.

DIFFERENT TYPE OF KEYS AND THEIR FUNCTIONS

The Master Key

This Master key derives all permission on the key including the owner key when the owner key can change all permission but it can not drive all keys only the master password can perform it.

The Owner Key

This key is very important key because it is given the power to change any key of an account. If any account is compromised, the owner key can recover it for you.

Active Key

It is used to trade the funds, transfer, and change account settings such as profile pictures. It is also used for placing market orders and voting for witness.

The Memo Key

This key is used for encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds. In order to encrypt a memo, use the pound/# sign before it.

The Posting Key

This key is used to perform simple actions such as posting something, voting for someone, making a comment, and to follow or mute someone.

Difference between Master Key and Owner Key

The master key helps to derive all the other keys when other keys are lost. You can still access the account with the master key and recover the lost keys in a safe place. While the owner key is used only when the account is compromised.
I have stored the key in a safe and private place where only I can access it. We must secure the key to save ourselves from cybercrimes.

How to Transfer Steem to Another User

1. Log into your wallet.

1. Click on the arrow encircled. There will be options. Click on the transfer option.

1. A transfer menu will be displayed. Write the username of the account you want to transfer to. Write the STEEM you want to transfer. At last, write a memo and click on the next option. Then it will ask for the activation key. Put active key and click on complete. That's it.
   
   

   How to Power Up STEEM

2. Enter your Steem wallet.
3. Click on the arrow showed in the below picture where options will appear.

1. A display menu will be shown. Write the username of the account. Write Steem power you would like to power up. A confirmation message will appear a few seconds after this process and the steem power will increase.

I like the way Steemit has provided high security to its users. It's amazing.
