Achievement 2 @tangosierra1086 Task: Basic Security on Steem

Private. Security. Authenticate. Secret.

These are the words that come to my mind whenever I hear the word "password".

Indeed passwords are very important and should not be shared nor seen to anyone.

Even before, like the ancient times, a sort of password has been widely used to secure or keep their treasures.

In this era where technology is highly advanced, passwords can easily be hacked and compromised the security and safety of our account.

I have known some friends where their social media account where being hacked and not only that, some of them are their financial account.

Scary, right?!

•Question 1
Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?

That's why, when I finally signed up for steemit and retrieved all my keys.

•Question 2
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

I secure and keep them right away, because these keys are very important and has its own unique functionality and limits.

If you want to post your blog, comment, resteem and vote, we use our Posting Key while Active Key is more on the monetary functionality such as, exchanging and transferring tokens.

For Memo Key, this is not really commonly used however, we use this when we want to decrypt a private message that sent to us through the blockchain or encrypt a message.

On the other hand, Public Keys do not really require us to save these securely. Among these keys, the Owner Key plays a very significant role, because this is the only key that can help us reset the other keys and decline voting rights, not only that though, this is the key we use to recover our account.

So, imagine, if you lose this key?! (goodbye world!).

• Question 3
How do you plan to keep your master password?

What if I forgot where I kept my keys? This question crossed my mind while groping for words to write in this activity not knowing that this will be the next question. :p And so, I found the answer-it's the Master Password.

These passwords, specially my Master Password will be kept inside the secret pocket of my wallet.

Since I carry my wallet all the time, I think this is the best place where I can safely keep them.

Of course, I have prepared a back up plan as well in case my first option won't work ;).

Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

I did explore a little bit on my end and was able to simulate transferring steem token to another account, to do that, just click "Wallet", on the upper right hand side on your screen,

click (Steem Arrow Down button) and click the "Transfer" option).

and then you will see this screen

input the information needed and you're good to go! :D

•Question 5
Do you know how to power up your STEEM?

To power up a steem, click again "WALLET"

and then click "STEEM"

and choose "POWER UP" on the dropdown lists
