Dear reader, today I bring you one of steemit’s biggest crimes. This could bring about a user serving serious jail time.
Just kidding, but it will lead to several penalties and consequences. This crime goes by the name “PLAGIARISM”.
WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?
Plagiarism is the disgraceful act of insulting the name of creativity, by duplicating a creators work without proper permission nor credit attained or given to that creator. Plagiarism is a serious crime in every steemit community, bring a zero tolerance to this particular act. It is forbidden in all forms of posts, contests and even fun writings.

Can you get away with plagiarism?
I write to my dear readers with 100% honesty, and believe me when I say that “no single act of plagiarism goes unpunished” in the steemit community. They are various communities working day and night, searching every inch of this platform to fish out those whom have chosen to go against the rules and regulations that govern this platform. I personally call them “the steemit police”.

Plagiarism could either be intentional or unintentional, the penalty still goes either way.
Is there a full proof way to avoid plagiarism?
Sure there is. I’ve searched far and wide, I came to the conclusion that self written ideas and fresh content is the best way to avoid plagiarism. Take all the time you need in making your content unique and carry your trademark. Originality is the number one way of producing a spectacular content.

What if I don’t have any new ideas?
In this case, I propose a second method in which you would need to apply the use of “Citations”.
source
What is Citation?
Citation is simply giving credit to the creator in which you have dubbed a certain part of their original work. Make sure to be very careful when carrying out this method, do not misplace this idea and leave the post without a citation, to avoid certain penalties.
“I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them”.
