Every one coming to Steemit with purpose.
I come to Steemit because of Gemini. Recently there is a question in my head, can we leverage the trust method of blockchain to improve the news and history. I got the following answer from Gemini:
Blockchain, with its decentralized, transparent, and immutable nature, offers a robust solution to the issues of misinformation, data tampering, and censorship that have plagued traditional media. Here's how blockchain can be leveraged to create more trustworthy news and historical records:
Immutable Recordkeeping: Once information is recorded on a blockchain, it becomes extremely difficult to alter or delete. This ensures the authenticity and integrity of news articles and historical events.
Transparency: Blockchain's transparent nature allows anyone to verify the authenticity of information. This transparency can help combat the spread of fake news and misinformation.
Decentralization: By removing the need for a central authority, blockchain reduces the risk of censorship and manipulation.
Timestamping: Every transaction on a blockchain is time-stamped, providing a verifiable record of when information was created or updated.
And I asked if there already some practice. Gemini shares me a list of: Civil(https://civil.co), PressCoin and Steemit(https://steemit.com). The result is really sad. Civil is closed, PressCoin seem like semi-closed and only Steemit available.
Anyway, it seems much more like a coin based community other than blockchain based news/community I expected. Not sure if my understanding is right. Then what are you coming for?
