What is plagiarism?

According to oxford dictionary
Plagiarism is presenting someone else work or idea as your own, with or without their consent. Plagiarism maybe intentional or reckless.

To me , plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thought, ideas or expression as ones original work.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

It is furtherly divided into several types. I will list and explain few of them.

• Direct plagiarism: this is when the plagiarist copies and paste the text from someone else work and neglect to cite the source or remove punctuation marks.

• Mosaic plagiarism: this is the act of copying different author's work , merging them to form one post and also presenting it as your work.

• Self plagiarism: this is when a person copy and paste part of their previously work as a new post.

• Accidental plagiarism: It is the act of presenting the work that had already been used by another user without notice

consequences of plagiarism

• It attracts down votes on one's post
• It destroy one's reputation

how to avoid plagiarism

• Paraphrase from your copied content (and add your own ideas).
• Use a plagiarism checker before you present your work.
• Commit yourself to doing your own work

Conclusion

Plagiarism is a bad act and everyone should abstain from such act. Stop plagiarism . Be creative.
