Key is play an vital role in Steemit similarly as password of your social media account is important, there are many ways to retrieve your password once you lost your password but there is no way to retrieve the keys once you lost the major key of the steemit like master key and owner key. It is always advisable don't share your key to anybody, even you should be very careful about your keys. As 'm the newbies here, it is really necessary to about uses and restrictions of all keys. With the help of @crytokanon i'm able to understand keys of steemit, today i would like to share about the knowledge I have about keys of Steemit.

Posting key

Posting key is used for login to #steemit account with which you can Make post, edit, comments, reply, vote, resteem, follow or mute other Accounts. You can login your page with posting key only, in case if you do any transaction then login with Active key. It is safe To login with your Posting key only.

Active Key

Active Key is used for sensitive task such as transferring Fund, Power Up/ Down, voting For witness, Update the profile Details, converting the Steem Dollar and placing a market Order.

Owner Key

It is most powerful keys, it is meant to use when it necessary only. It is powerful key because it can change the key of your account including the owner key. It should be safe offline line for more security and only used to recover the compromised Account.

Memo key

The memo key is used for Encrypting and decrypting the memos while transferring the Fund. In order to encrypt a memo, use the # before it.

Master Key

Master key is also Powerful key, it is used to generate all the keys even the owner keys. Access the master key only in case of account recovery.

There master key is the password,you get upon signing up. you should then take the password, go to steemit.com then Wallet. Retrieved all the keys and used accordingly.

What to do if I Lost my key?

There is no way to recover your account if you lost your owner key. Mobile No and email ID of no Used which you used while registering yourself to Steemit. It is highly recommended you should safe your Masters key offline(write down on the piece of paper) and Online too.
