I'm @wasa2020 from Nigeria. I'm delighted to continue my achievement task 3 after achievement 2 was approved a few days ago. Achievement 3 task is an important task with the following objective as stated in the guideline.
Newcomers have knowledge on Proof of Brain concept.
Newcomers have basic knowledge on producing and sharing quality/original content.
Newcomers embracing the existing Steem Community etiquette
Content Etiquette in the steemit platform talks about plagiarism. And in this article today I will be explaining my understanding of what plagiarism is all about. Let's get started.
What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the process of copying someone else work and using it as your own without giving credit to the real owner of the task. This means stealing content and presenting it as yours.
From my little research I also got another simpler definition of plagiarism as seen in the quote "Plagiarism is the act of passing off someone else’s work as your own" source
Types of plagiarism
Based on my little research as well, we have several types of plagiarism and they can be seen below. The source my research is source
- Complete plagiarism
- Direct plagiarism
- Paraphrasing plagiarism
- Self-plagiarism
- Accidental plagiarism
Complete plagiarism: This is a type of plagiarism that is seen as the highest type of abuse because the user here copies entirely everything like the research work of another person or image without giving credit to the owners of the work.
Direct plagiarism: This is also similar to complete plagiarism but the difference here is that here you don't copy the entire task of the users instead you will copy a few parts of the user's content without referencing it. This case is known as direct plagiarism.
Paraphrasing plagiarism: This is also another form of plagiarism where the person in question paraphrase the original content of a writer I.e by changing a few words of the original content without referencing where he/she got the original content.
Self-plagiarism: Self-plagiarism as the name implies is a type of plagiarism you commit by yourself. Here, for instance, you wrote an article in one community and then copy it and post in another community referencing the first place it was posted. This act is known as self-plagiarism.
Accidental plagiarism: As the name suggests, in this type of plagiarism, you may not know how to paraphrase, cite and quote any of the research work you are doing. So in this way, you have committed accidental plagiarism because it was not intentional.

The next thing you will do is to join communities, to avoid being labeled as "NC" (No community / not joining any club) or “KIV”( Suspicious account). When you received those labels you will no longer receive an upvote from steemcurator09
Use this upvote as your initial capital to join the #club5050 program which means to power up more than half of your cashout. Know that the Steem Greeter’s Team is very strict about this matter. We will check your wallet to see if you really follow the rule.
