PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism is a criminal offence and it can be done consciously or unconsciously.

This is why we need to be conscious of it. It is the violation of the copyright law. Various individuals engage in production of plagiarized contents without minding the harm they cause the original owner of the work.

We should try to be conscious of what we write, where we copy from and always ensure we give them the honour that is due to them.It reduces the dignity of the author of the original content of a work, thereby causing them to struggle in production of more works which is not good and as a result we have lost good authors.
Paying attention to plagiarism will add value to the original owners of contents and it will motivate them to write more books, it will also make defaulters of copyright law to avoid plagiarism when punishment is attached to it.
One of the ways to avoid plagiarism is apply the rules and regulations guiding copyright. In writing, we are told to include citation and References.
Referencing and citation of authors and books are very paramount, they are the best ways to curb plagiarism. Referencing a book will add more value to that book and citing an author of a book will also add value and public recognition to that author. There are two methods of citation I studied; they are Parenthetical and Numerical. Parenthetical gives a short reference in text , while Numerical give a number that agrees with an end note.
Examples: Parenthetical(scientists revealed.the fact of human existence"(wealthmary, 2020, p.5). Numerical("Scientists revealed the fact of human existence."2)
