Preamble

I did my compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria.
Nsit Ubium Local government area, and TBT [Truth be told] i was very unhappy about it reason being... This service is supposed to be done in a totally different state other than where you are from to enable one adapt to the lives ways and culture of other tribes within the country, i am from Akwa ibom already, so when i saw my deployment back to my state of origin, i engulfed with mixed feelings.

Well, things were not as bad as i thought afterall,

ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL

Things went well but i still felt a lacking, i was missing something• • •

Breakthrough

In the month of May, 2019, the Corp members fellowship of which i belong to, Nigerian Corpers Christian Fellowship abbreviated as NCCF went on an evangelism outreach tagged 'Rural rugged.

I am so grateful for that outing, because it has been my most blessed and treasurable memory.

We arrived at Ikot Abasi, the camping ground really late, because it is quite a distance from Nsit Ubium where is our location.

sight the ladies with tired faces

Activities went into full swing, prayer sections, worship, house - to - house evangelism, charity, skills acquisition and one in particular that is the motive behind my writing this post. It was the recreational part, where we had a ride ito the water, WOW, it was my first time and it was such fun.

This particular shares boundaries with Opobo, a village in another neighbouring state, Rivers State, Nigeria.

We met the guide, paid a paltry sum per person then the life jacket was distributed to us, which we buckled on, i ensured to tighten as i do not know how to swim, just incase of any incident.

We got on board...

Being in the water, touching, seeing the waves, having fun, we kept shouting laughing taking thousands of pictures and making videos that has left footprints in our hearts forever.

For me, that was the highlight of the outing.

It should be a unique experience and you were able to enjoy it with your friends, it is not bad to remember the old days and maybe in the future you can repeat it.
