World clean up exercise...How i handle my house hold gabages.

Hello to everyone in this noble community. This contest about waste management is a very nice and educative one in my perspective. I say so because it will teach each and everyone of us in this community a new way or skill on how to handle our household gabages.
One might ask that,what is household gabages or waste and how is it generated;
Household gabages or waste refers to the waste material usually generated in our homes or residential environment and the community at large. Such wastes or gabages are generated by our daily activities. For an example like, shopping from the grocery stores, those plastic bags and metallic cans are the things that generates domestic waste.
As there is no clear urban way of handling sanitation strategy and plan in Ghana. However, sanitation is a social and public thing that every citizen needs to practice in oder for it to benefit him or her and the community at large. Also,we all know that waste management practices are not uniform among countries that is between developed and developing nations almost everyone has their way of handling waste.

In Ghana, the amount of waste generated is very high and we have poor waste management system too. Most of the waste materials are not recycled. What i am trying to say is that we don't really recycle wastes here in ghana. It is mostly burned ot burried in the ground.
Most locals here dump gabages at any place they feel like dumping it. That is why we have chocked gutters here. Gutters are another place where people tend to dump their waste most especially when it is raining. With the perception that the rain will carry it away.

As a concerned citizen and a waste management activists i have my own ways of managing waste in my house and the community at large. Some of the ways are as follow;
I try to get dustbins positioned in almost every coner of the house.

I live in a house where there are kids there too(my siblings). With the kids in the house they sometimes don't put the waste in the bin, they throw the gabages any how. So i sometimes have to be patient and go around and pick around the house and then put them back in the bins. I sometimes ask the kids to come pick with me. Which also teaches them how to be responsible when it comes to waste management.
When the bins get fully i try to sort them out into plastics and metals. Before disposing them off.
I try to take the ones that can be recycled to the recycling house for recycling. They sometimes come for them. Also,There is an abandoned hole in behind our house.

Which has being there for some time now. I figured out that some of the gabages or waste can be burned. So i try to put them there and burn them. Also when the place is bushy and the house is being weed around i also put the weeds.
Finally i try to participate in communal Labours. Not just participating i also try to reach to the youth and educate them on hiw useful it is to practice good sanitation. During the communal Labour work i put in as much as effort as i can.
