The dawn call to prayer just sounded when we got off the bus. Serang – Kuningan journey is a long journey. Spent almost a night sleeping and occasionally gazing at the view outside the dark window. We unload the backpack from the trunk with our unconscious eyes. This morning the motorcycle taxis were on standby and offered us to the Registration Post, it seemed they knew we were going there from our backpacks and appearance.

After negotiating, we agreed to take a conventional motorcycle taxi. Not bad too, right, if you walk. The cold village wind made the face have to hide behind the back of the motorcycle taxi driver. The road began to climb.

On the left and right sides of the fenced houses look deserted, there has been no activity. There were only a few people who left the prayer room or the stalls that were starting to open. We came here just as life was about to begin. Arriving at the Rumbune Village Ascent Registration Post, Rifki and I checked at the Registration Post Counter.

It's still not open, apparently, still sleeping it seems. Desri and Andre have finished their business with the motorcycle taxi drivers. So what now, right? The post is still closed, the eyes are still quite sleepy, the cold is starting to set in, and there are no food stalls open yet. After checking the back, it turned out that the prayer room was not locked. There is a toilet, wide and closed in front.

Okay, we decided to take a nap until we waited for the post to open, until a food stall opened for breakfast. What are we really going to do? Is there a Climbing Registration Post, is there a rumbune and a backpack? Yes, it seems predictable.

I, Rifki, Desri and Andre, will climb Mount Burni Telong (sometimes also called Mount How Active And Erupted on December 7, 1924 Causing Great Damage to the Surrounding Environment including village agricultural land-) via the Rumbune route, the climbing route of Mount Burni Telong which is said to be the most popular. extreme and difficult.

At 7 am I woke up, not because of the chicken kukuruyuk, but the sound of people outside talking about something. In such a quiet place the chatter of 2 or 3 people can be heard lively. Andre looks like he's tidying up his packing. Rifki and Desri are still sleeping. I shook both of them to get up. After washing my face, I went out. Melt with people who are chatting.

They are climbers who will also climb Mount Burni Telong. Rifki and Andre also came out. We then took care of climbing tickets at the Registration Post. Before starting the climb, I want to take a walk first. Also looking for breakfast. After going downstairs, I found a nasi uduk stall surrounded by several women who also bought nasi uduk. The fries are still hot and look crunchy. Very suitable to eat in a cold place like this. I returned to the post with 4 packets of nasi uduk and a full plastic bag of fried food. The stomach is full, the ticket is in hand, and the backpack is on the shoulder. The journey is ready to begin. Mount Burni Telong which is a tourist attraction mountain in Bener Meriah with an altitude of 2,624 meters above sea level. Located in Bener Meriah district. This mountain is managed by the local community.

In addition to the Rumbune route, there is also the Merapi route which is also included in the Majalengka area, as well as the Palutungan route which is included in the climbing area. From the Ascent Registration Post. Passing the rice fields and plantations of residents. The road is still good in the form of a paved road. But it has started to climb. It doesn't matter, we're stumbling and hurrying. We take a break. Here is the last ramp where to fill in the logistics.

Shelter 1 is filled with large trees which are both calming and soothing. Very suitable for those who want to camp cheerful. From shelter 1, the next journey begins to climb. The path begins to be narrow and in the form of rocks. We arrived at Shelter 2 Datar with our journey quite slow. In shelter 2 Flat we rested. Andre, the only man on our team, drank the water he brought with him. The others followed. This hike feels lonely. Very few climbers were found. Apart from the climbers from Banda Aceh, we have not met any climbers yet. Okay, enough rest.

The journey continues. After passing through shelter 2, we finally arrived at shelter 2. The journey was quite long and there were many climbs. It was raining heavily. We finally decided to put a flysheet in shelter 2 to protect us from the rain while we rested. When the rain stopped, it was already 4 in the afternoon. This closed forest is starting it feels dark.

Instead of continuing the journey which might arrive at night in shelter 2, we decided to put up a tent in shelter 2. Don't ask if we are not afraid to spend the night here? Just hearing his name gave me goosebumps. Luckily we remembered, our purpose here is to hike, to enjoy the nature. So just ignore all the mystical things that can interfere with the goal. As for the night we spent in the tent, I don't want to talk about it. Please feel free if anyone wants to enjoy spending the night in shelter 2. And enjoy what I experienced.

The next morning, the journey continued. Our tent stays in shelter 2 to speed up the movement. We only brought drinking water, food and flysheets. The dense and dense forest made us unable to see the scenery because it was closed. We arrived at Shelter 2 After resting for a while, the journey continued up to Shelter 3 Climbs. These are the 2 most famous climbs among climbers who have been to Mount Burni. I have to hold on to tree roots and twigs to climb up. Sloping and steep. As tireless, we continued to climb until shelter 3, then gowa. And lunch break at Pos gowa 1.

Lunch is the most awaited moment. We were carried away long enough. I lay on the ground. Enjoy the view of the dancing branches and leaves in the wind. Because chasing time, our journey continues until gowa. There we found a water source in the rock crevice of the cliff. Even though it's small, it's still pretty good. The water is also fresh. In addition, many strawberries, also called forest strawberries, are found near water sources. Andre and I were so busy harvesting strawberries that we forgot Desri and Rifki who were ready to continue climbing. It was already 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

From Gowa, we continued to the top. The path we were on was now more open, rocky, and like a stream. Rifki looks more and more tired. In fact, he often lags behind so we have to wait for him to stay together. We started to find the Eidelweiss plant. Unfortunately it's not flowering season. Only the remnants of last season have dried up. Before we arrived at Puncak, it was raining heavily. We took cover on the flysheet. Luckily the tent was in sight. We ran up. There were already several climbers from Lhokseumawe. They take cover under flysheets while sparing water. We join. Not so long ago, after getting acquainted, we already exchanged stories. They shared freshly made hot tea for us. After the rain stopped, we could only enjoy the charming scenery.

The expanse of the ridge looks graceful. The clock shows 4 in the afternoon. The next consideration is, are we going to continue climbing to the top or not? Alright, we decided to go back up. First, if we push to the peak that is already visible, we can just go home late at night. Count 1 hour drive from the summit to shelter 3, then 2 hours round trip. We just arrived at shelter 3 back at 6 pm. We didn't want to come down until late at night. Second, we prove that the top is not the main goal. That journey and process is the goal.
