SELFPORTRAIT (my gray hair debut) By Alejandra Her

The most pleasant way to know, remember and accept myself is through self-portrait.

I love the linear style, and the background color gives it a special atmosphere.

In this self-portrait I wanted to capture something that does not appear in any previous self-portrait: my new natural gray hair strands.

For some years, gray hair has been appearing in this part of my head. Although I bought dyes, I have not dared to use them and I end up giving them away. Something special about those gray hair strands, which didn't make me look younger but I like them anyway.

Here I share my creative process.

First I made a sketch with guide lies, and I trace my face lines in another layer.

I hid the guide lines layer, and painted my nose and lips with the same orange tone that I used later in the background.

I put more lines details in my face, and outlined the borders.

I painted my hair with black with a charcoal brush un Adobe Photoshop, and painted the background with orange.

I added my gray hair. This was the very special part.
