"And God cast Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden, and put a burning sword to protect the tree of life."

Genesis 3:24

Greetings friends of Steemit.

In these times of quarantine when life is debated, whether to leave the houses or not, and in which subtly death haunts our steps. In times when the paradox is more time at home in the company of the family or in some cases alone perhaps; when in underdeveloped countries the debate is whether you die from a virus or starve if you don't work. Questions that only in these times of havoc we ask ourselves, life, death, eternity?

As a good fan but passionate about movies that make us break our heads, about profound works that shake our hearts and minds, those that do not abound, but are and arrive, at precise moments like this. Today I will refer to a movie that was pending, but for various reasons it is in these times that I can see it, let's see, about "The source of life".

The Fountain, is an American film released in 2006, genre science fiction, fantasy and drama. It was directed by Darren Aronofsky and starring Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz. And a special mention is to name the person in charge of his masterful music, Clint Mansell.

Synopsis.

TTommy (Hugh Jackman) a scientific researcher, whose purpose is to find the elimination of brain tumors in human beings, has little time, because his wife Izzi (Rachel Weisz), Unfortunately suffers from such a disease.

During the sixteenth century in Spain, Tomás (Hugh Jackman), a noble soldier, receives a mission from Queen Elizabeth, this is to go in search of the "Tree of Life" that according to the investigations of a Franciscan father is in New Spain (Guatemala).

The Astronaut in his last process of reaching the Xibalbá, next to the "Tree of Life"; Transformed into a full ascetic, he awaits redemption, and to meet with the love of his life. While during the journey in the nebula, chaos and calm are intertwined until their explosion.

The film follows the course of the intertwined narrations of three characters, which take place in different temporal spaces: the 21st century, the era of the conquest of America, and the future.

Life, death, fear, redemption, reincarnation, eternity and love, themes that intrigue, us perhaps not many, but it is a doubt that great thinkers have asked themselves during the history of humanity. And as the film tells it, the search for some element or source does not escape reality, which gives us those answers as to eternal life itself, and knowledge. Proof of this, is in history the search for the philosopher's stone by the ancient alchemists, the "Tree of Life" mentioned from the book of Genesis, to almost all the cultures of the ancient world, and other enigmas that became myths .

Hugh Jackman, I have to admit that apart from his action movies as a superhero, I had not dared to see his performance in other genres. And I can say that my mouth fell silent, and forces me to see his other representations outside the genre of action. And in the same way, Rachel Weisz, never out of place, well known for several perhaps secondary films, but I remember her for starring in "Agora" (2009), but exalted at the Oscars for "The Constant Gardener" (2005), winning for best supporting actress.

Finally, although somewhat complicated to understand at first, it is a good movie despite having been highly underestimated and the truth is unknown to many. For this reason, it is necessary to recommend it. Without more I say goodbye, and I await your comments if you see this great work.

Greetings and thanks.
