## First of all I would like to tell you that this post will be an entire one for power up all you vote for here is to help the community
So I will not give up at the moment not even 1 cent all together for a greater cause Power UP 100%
Well, before I do, I apologize for being unaccounted for, but that was for obvious reasons. As soon as I entered the community a few weeks ago, this happened and for a moment I saw my colorful world collapse.
Well on my visit to the homeland where I started in the previous Post today I present you the mother church of Vila do Conde or São João Batista as it is called
Right on my visit to the homeland where I started today in the previous Post, I present the parish church of Vila do Conde or São João Batista, as it is called.
This church appears on top of an old one in which there are no traces of it. It was built in 1496 by the aquitite João Rainho, followed by Sancho Garcia and Rui Garcia Penagós
In 1502, D. Manuel, I stayed there on a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, and the king began to finance all of his work.
In its entirety it is of the Gothic-Manueline style this is noticeable in the boldness of the door frame in the choir and side aisles
however later 1573 the bell tower was built in the renaissance or mineral style, this church is in fact the combination of several styles
In which your final result is incredible
The large quadrangular bell tower imposes itself on the front due to the volume and almost no ornamentation, with the exception of the balusters counter.
Internally, the church has a Latin cross plan with three naves of different height with wooden cover and a headboard with three chapels, with a chapel on each side of the transept. The sections of the nave are separated by columns and round arches. The chancel is covered by a gothic-Manueline ribbed vault and has a gilded baroque altarpiece, sculpted in 1740 by Porto carver Manuel Pereira da Costa Noronha. The pulpit and side altars were sculpted in the first half of the 18th century by the carver João Gomes de Carvalho.
and that's it for today, I hope you like it ...
All because of a Steem always.
