I was looking forward to a planned trip to the countryside this afternoon to get some much-needed new scenery after being locked down working from home all week. I decided it was a well-deserved reward after a pretty focused working week of contacting clients on the phone, showing them some love and letting them know the company is still there for them during this COVID-19 situation.
The fresh air and wide open spaces beckoned, and I looked forward to a hike, to seeing some Australian wildlife, kangaroos and koala's, (no snakes thanks)...And to revel in the silence. I should have checked the weather forecast before getting too excited about it though.
It's been raining for a couple hours now...Not patchy rain or drizzle, but hearty rain, the type that get's you very wet, very quickly. I don't melt in the rain of course, but I decided to forego the trip to the hills and just stay home.
To say I was really looking forward to a few hours in the hills, watching the sun set and some fresh air would be an understatement...But I've been around long enough to know life doesn't always go to plan. To be completely honest we need the rain very badly as it's been incredibly dry here...It freshens things up and the next time I head to the hills they'll look like this; Can I wait a week or so? Yep, sure can.

So, it's a rainy Friday night and my planned trip wasn't to be but that won't stop Faith and I from having a nice night. We're making home made pasta with a side of garlic bread and watching a David Attenborough documentary and then we'll get stuck into some reading with a coffee and some jaffa cakes. Sound legit? Yep, I agree.
What are you guys all doing with your Friday night? No bars, clubs and restaurants I'd imagine, for those in lockdown anyway...Tell me, what's up y'all?

Yeah, I guess that's all we can do...It's all still out of control I guess, just saw some images form New York where it's rife. Spain, Italy, UK...It's all bad.
I think in the very near future people will start going stir-crazy and find their attitude decline rapidly...It's all fun whilst "celebrities" are doing videos of how to wash hands...But eventually attitudes will change and that's when we all need to be vigilant with each other to ensure things don't decline to low emotional levels.

My spirits are high, mostly because I managed to get one of the increasingly few home delivery slots from an onlin grocery order but yeah, it's a tough thing.

Yeah man, trying to do so. It's all good here mate, as in, as good as it can be. Good score on the home delivery; We're still having to get out to the supermarket which is where I'm going right now...There's not much there though with continuing supply issues. We won't starve though. :)

We ain't in danger of starving but always got to be adding to the stash. I was going to the supermarket quite a lot before but now its gon a bit crazy so sticking with the occasional delivery when I get them.

We're trying to avoid it but there's always stuff you know? Besides, here we can't buy for a week, only a day or so at a time with some items. So many restrictions and buy-limits.

Just got word from my Supervisor, that my Vacations and Lieu days off are cancelled due to a Staffing shortage. As a nurse with a Certification in Respiratory and Ventilator equipment I find myself deemed essential staff, Overtime hours here I come and hopefully this thing blows over so I can get a break.

Yes, medical staff are essential. I hope you manage to keep yourself healthy whilst in the thick of it in a medical facility and sure you will do your best to bring comfort to the many disease-affected patients. All the best with it.
