A monochromatic still life painting study done in 2014 when I was in art school. We used Chinese ink bar for this. We had a live painting session and we were slowly learning how to properly look at proportions and tonal value.

I dunno, probably just the lighting? Or that you're just used to my sad paintings lol but I was just painting it for practice. The shoes and lighting were set up by our professors, so there weren't stories for it at all
