Sculpting Foxy

In this post I'm going to share a couple fox I've carved. Bears are the best sellers but in my area, most wildlife carvings sell fast.

1ft cedar fox in a hollow..
This is the only picture I have of this little guy. My last phone's screen went black and there was a couple months worth of pictures lost.
I did have his picture posted on Instagram so I grabbed it from there.

After posting that one, I had another request for a likeness except a tad bigger and more mature.

He was 2ft tall and carved from white pine.

Here he is in the raw with details done, ready for burning and paint.

Finished fox sitting alert...

Another one I've done that had to be reproduced, came from this piece of scrap.

I might have said this before but some of my best pieces come from the odd shapes and natural character of the wood. Its already in there.

Blocked out quick..

As well as detailed. Most of the detail is done with the saw with the exception of major focal points. Like eyes, snout, and mouth

Some airbrush work to finish him off.

This is so cute <3 You are very skilled :D

Dude those are amazing. Skillz to pay the billz!

I kind of feel sad for the tree it once was but at least the stump has turned into something pretty. You're very talented

Thank you @yidneth and no worries, you'll feel better knowing I have never cut a living tree down in my lifetime. All the wood I get for carving was headed to the landfill...repurposed and given a new life 🙂

I kind of felt it, don't ask me why, i know it sounds like a hippy tree hugger, so happy it has a purpose and given a new "shape". It's beautiful art, still you cannot help but wonder. By the way great carving skills, I wish would know enough to do my own musical instruments.

Looking good!

Wow! That is so awesome!

Now that is some interesting content. Incredible pieces of art you made there, buddy!

oh my god..... that is so beautiful

Thank you @masummim50
