Do you notice how things are changing fast nowadays? When we come to the same place, one thing we realize first is how things change, could be better, or could be worse and it would depend on your perspective.
Padar, the island that became the Komodo National Park icon. Mention the name of your friends who traveled to Komodo but did not take pictures in the "peak" area of Padar, it will be difficult to find it because Padar is always on the itinerary trip list to Komodo and to be honest, until now Padar is still the most photogenic spot (land) in Komodo.
the stairs
Padar now it's never lonely :)
Then what changed from Padar? Of course, Padar is now more crowded. I remember in 2013-2014 there were very few ships that leaned on the waters of Padar Island. if you climb Padar Island at that time, you will not run into anyone, only our group is there at that time, there must sometimes be other groups but very rarely intersect at the same time.
Padar used to have its own difficulties.actually Padar is not too high and steep (for me Gili Lawa is more steep than Padar), trekking to the top of Padar is a path that tends to be easier, but with difficulty at the beginning and end because the first ascending area issand areas that are slippery and often make people fall when they come down. This gravel and sand area also dominates the trekking area towards the first rock (if you've been to Padar, you know which one) ![2017-08-12 03.43.41 1.jpg]( Padar now has a wooden ladder at the beginning of trekking, this replaces the sand and slippery gravel that often makes people fall. This wooden ladder is made simple, so it doesn't disturb the view and in my opinion it helps many people who have difficulty going up and down in this area. Next, in Padar also built stairs. when I first saw the stairs being built (when it was just cement), it was very sad to see the natural contours change with the stucco lines. a few months later I came back to Padar and this ladder was mostly completed, with stones planted on the cement steps so that they became more integrated with the surroundings. Sad? well, a little, but nevertheless this ladder does make trekking to the top a lot easier, especially in the upper area where we usually have to climb rocks . At the top (almost) there is now a large platform (??), this is what I am quite sad (again), what is this big platform for? to group photos together? this platform is right in front of the rock with a spectacular view of Padar. I think stairs are enough, but everyone can have a different view, right?Komodo and Padar always have a special place in my heart, it's always a place where I never get bored of coming and coming again. I do not hate change, my life is filled with change and change is also what led me to live life as it is today. but sometimes, the nostalgic feeling just came in and brought me to the feeling of years back, when it was a place to chill and enjoy the serene moment, feeling the sunset with nobody else but us
