They wanted our help...
We like doing a good job and we like having friends. Some older friends we know had a steer they were planning on butchering, and they thought they could use some help. At their age, having help makes sense, so when they asked if we would help, we kindly agreed. It gave us an opportunity to learn a few things too. I especially liked the creative table they had to lay the steer on. The top can even be swapped out to change the size for larger or smaller animals.
All went well, and they blessed us with the hide so I could try to tan it. That's rather intimidating due to the size, but I'm willing to give it a go. Here's a few photos of the special table they have, and the sides of beef hanging off the tractor bucket. This is where meat comes from folks. Enjoy the photos!
