NOW WHAT HAVE I CAPTURED?

I even caught it with my bare hand!

This is an Eastern Mole (Scalopus aquaticus). Usually they are beneath the surface digging through the soil searching for worms to eat. This one was near the surface, so I was able to grab it. We do not like them in our garden, so I was happy to catch it. Many people will never hold one of these in their hands... have you?
