Monochromatic beauty even when you think beauty does not exist there

Does beauty exist where most think it doesn’t? Maybe not in color I tell myself. Maybe in monochromatic black-and-white, stripping away colorful details of the ugly, will reveal a certain beauty. I stumbled upon several things today that immediately I thought, wow that’s sort of disgusting or ugly. After changing the format of my picture to black-and-white, a certain beauty came forth and now I appreciate even the ugly for what it is. It is true what they say beauty can be found in anything, and is most certainly in the eye of the beholder.

For example in this peeling paint, most likely lead it that ha ha, at first glance it looked like somebody needed to repair it. Most likely they do otherwise this world will begin to rot. But I see beauty beyond the peeling paint in the shadows and in the light reflected to my eyes.

Or this scooter or a razor or whatever you call it, somebody left it on the ground to right away and litter the earth. Buried in the stones and soon to be swallowed by nature, it’s still contrasts against the texture of the stones creating some sort of beauty.

A broken window, again not beautiful and should be repaired. It’s also a sign of possible frustration Or cruel destruction of property. All that aside the dark from within framed by the reflection of the glass bouncing light back to the sun. I see beauty in this as well as I feel I want to repair it!

Multiple layers of construction. Man-made mess. Makes for a great picture with lots of different textures going on. The old stone from 100 years ago coupled with plywood that looks like it was just put up last week. The house is falling down but it’s doing it beautifully.

A pile of leaves legs blown into a heap. Upon the decomposing and wind tormented maple leaves lies and Oakleaf sprawled out as if Langit self out in an effort to protect the rest of the pile.

Thick blades of grass, stems pointing toward the sky and glory and proud to be upright. They sway to and from as the wind gently blows through the reads. They require a good clipping but no one around to do it. I will leave them here proud and whistling in the wind.

Just above the grass the wind cries through the tree limbs bear of any leaves. The skylight stands tall behind with wispy white clouds floating past without a care in the world. Maybe the only beautiful thing in color and or black-and-white I’ve seen thus far.

Last but not least as I’m leaving this photo session, I avoid tripping on and twisting my ankle in a pothole. Everyone loves potholes! Are they beautiful? I suppose if you shoot them in black and white they are.
