UK Finally Leaves European Union.

On the day that the UK bids farewell to the EU I find myself reflecting on the rise of Nationalism, both in England, my country Bangladesh and abroad. Nationalism has been the trigger for Brexit no doubt. Too often in history Nationalism has been defined as hatred of foreigners. The Other. Yet this is not the core of what is to be Nationalist.

The core of Nationalism is love for ones country and fellow countryman and woman. They are at an interesting moment in human history. The problems humanity faces as a species need global action and global solutions. Co-operation with other nations to solve for the challenges ahead is crucial for the survival of the species. There is no conflict between Nationalism and Globalism. Their country is the Earth upon which they stand!

Tomorrow is Imbolc, Brigid’s Day. Britain 🇬🇧 gains its name from the Goddess and her Cult of the Swan. As they stand upon on Earth tomorrow and breathe in the crisp air of a new day full of possibilities for their nations freedom. Let them remember that the Earth they stand upon and love so dear, is in fact the same Earth that the rest of humanity stands on regardless of what you call it. Planet Earth is our everyone's mother.

The womb from which England gotten and to which England will return. The Goddess. This is the land of British origin and they are the human species. Waking up to a new dawn to breathe in the fresh air. Nationalism is not at odds with Globalism. They are one and the same. How we chose to be with ourselves has always and will always continue to be the key question we must answer as human beings, nations and a species.
