Steemians, keep protecting the Steem Blockchain!!! VOTE FOR REAL WITNESSES!

Little did he know, little did they know...

Even tho' the whole twitter is buzzing today about what Justin Sun did to Steem, I will try to tell you how we get here in a very short and honest way.

I am not fighting atm to defend what is mine nor I'm looking to protect my ROI. I am fighting because we are under hostile takeover which is totally unacceptable in crypto world and because Steem is a home to a very vibrant passionate active community.

So, let me tell you why and how this happened:

  • Justin Sun bought Steemit.inc and its ninja mined stake which exist only to support dapps and communities, not to vote for posts or witnesses to keep the chain as much decentralized as it can be

  • Witnesses and community members asked crucial questions on AMA podcast with Justin and Ned on dLIvE. They were not given straight answers, only "for now" answers

  • Witnesses tried to contact Justin Sun to start talking about ninja mined stake to be sure it will not be used to centralize the chain completely. They didn't get a reply

  • Just to be sure ninja mined stake will not be used in malicious manners, witnesses SOFTforked ninja mined stake until the meeting with Justin Sun. They didn't nullify the stake, thex just SOFTforked it to protect the chain

  • Justin colluded with few more exchanges to use customers funds to power up Steem and vote for Justin's witnesses making the whole chain centralized and going against the will of the community.

  • After a lot of hours on voice on Discord with more than 300 Steem community members, we decided to power up and vote for our REAL witnesses so they cannot hard fork the chain as they want

  • More than 5 old witnesses are now voted in by the community members and some old Steem users are also powering up and voting to protect the chain

  • ATM, our witnesses and JS are havin closed meeting about the whole situation

So let me be clear...

Just because we had some fears what could Justin do to 4 years of hard work of a lot of people and because he didn't want to talk with us, we soft forked him until he decides to talk. If he wanted to talk, this whole fiasco wouldn't happen and we would be where we're at now, which just shows how much communication matters.

When he found out, he colluded with some of the exchanges and took control of the chain. I wish I was more literate and poetic to describe the fiasco that happened here.

Imagine someone took your money from the bank and used it to pay for something that will destroy you. Yeah, that's what happened here.

A very very sad day for crypto world and everyone who believes in and understand what crypto and decentralization is. I hope this is a lesson for everyone to learn from and it is not coincedance that Vitalik and other major crypto enthusiasts are very intereted in what will happen.

Anway...

The Steem community is still fighting and knowing how passionate it is, I don't believe it will stop fighting for its chain.

Currently, we are calling for anyone to vote for our real witnesses until this fiasco ends and we get back what is ours. Later, you can unvote who you want and vote for who you like.

It is time to stand together against this monster!

We are Steem, we are passionate!

Peace yo,

Mr. Spacely
