Whose work experience matters?

There's this phrase that I think has been used and overused to the point where its meaning has given birth to many irrelevant children overtime - "Experience is the best teacher"

Its meaning has given birth to many other phrases that tend to dilute the meaning of the original statement. However, the lesson remains. Experience teaches us. It directs and nurtures our decisions.

Recently, in Nigeria, there have been a number of problems job seekers have had with the expectations of employers. I'd have to say that in most cases, the remuneration, experience and abilities don't tally.

It's absurd searching for an individual who has mastered an art for over 10 years and offer them a payment of $200 monthly. This is the regular case in Nigeria. The experience gets you sold into slavery.

I've never been in this sort of situation. I don't think I'm qualified for any job based on experience in a professional field. I'm more of a job prostitute. The moment I sense signs of foul play, I'm usually the first to leave the scene.

My work experience

Right now, I have about 2 years of work experience from working at a radio station. However, I have no intention of using that for anything at the moment. Maybe eventually it'll come in handy.

On the other hand, I have an experience I have acquired by proxy and so far I think this is the best experience I could need right now.

My experience on the Hive blockchain has been acquired by proxy through the activities of my older brother who stayed consistent for the 4 years since we all joined and has shown me how through consistency, anything I desire is possible through this platform.

I wonder if during a job interview I could talk extensively about my experience writing consistently for 4 years; the rewards, trials and knowledge.

Then, at the end of the interview, I tell them this experience was gathered through a strong relationship I have with my brother and although the experience is his, I've been a strong part of his life and know what he has been up to every step of the way.

I imagine that's hardly enough reason to get employed. However, that's enough experience to keep me consistent and active on this platform.

The point from all this is, I think experience by proxy should matter. It's kinda dumb but yeah, just had it as a random thought.
