Hello Steemians

Greetings from Nigeria.!
This lockdown and quarantine period has exposed us to a lot of things, ideas, exercises, experiences and innovations.
Here lots of shops has been locked down except for few commercials.

Stocked at home with my younger sibling, I've seen most of the things he engaged himself with.
My little brother loves creating and building things with his hands.
He plays a lot with toys and is creative about making his own.
He owes a lot of toys which are mostly cars. He buys them every time my dad or mom lends him a pocket money either for school or for other purpose.
And since this lockdown, no toy shop opened and so he became bored playing with his old toys and mostly also, he has lost a handful of them to his friends and our neighbor's children.

So instead of staying toyless, my younger brother decided to derived a way of creating or making his own toy to play with.
He has made a handful of them but I will be sharing them one at a time.
He was really thoughtful about this.
He didn't have to wait for the lockdown to be lifted or called off before he could buy toys and play with them. Rather he decided to make his own toys by himself.

He used the waste cartons and packages to produce this toy.
I don't know how he came up with this model, but I think he was trying to put up something similar to dad's car. Though he didn't get it exactly right but I guess he did his very best.

Below are the shots from my brother's toy car made with waste cartons. He wanted to paint it to beautify it the more but I couldn't just wait anymore for him to finish😂😂 I told him there was a platform I wanted to share his work and that's here.

Materials Used

  • Cartons
  • Scissors
  • Petroleum Gum
  • Broomstick
  • Foil paper (For glass mirror)
  • Screws and Nuts

He put great effort in making this.
I love what he is doing. I believe he can improve and do better if taught either in school or any professional centre. We despise not his little beginning. What the little hands can do.
I would have love to share the step and procedures but since I didn't do it but my brother, hope you could forgive me😊

An excellent job! It is wonderful to repurpose things that would otherwise end up in the garbage. I remember getting presents as a boy and would play with the box more than I would play with the toy that came in it! 😀
