The ostrich, this is the biggest bird in the world with absolutely unique features. A fully grown ostrich is 10 ft high and can leap 5 ft, also they have two toes where one has a shape claw used in defense and balance while it walks.
The male ostrich has black and white feathers while the female has a dirty grey color on the feathers she also lays about 7 to 10 eggs.
An ostrich has three eyelids, whereby the third eyelid cleans away the dust particles that may have come with the weather and it has good vision to look out for predators.
Unlike other birds ostriches do not sing but they make strange noises it can be like a whistle or sometimes these birds bulge their long necks and make a sound that is similar to a roar of a lion.
The mating season.
This takes about 1 to 2 weeks for a male ostrich to attract the female ostrich. During this time, the female may put the male to test by running around so fast and the male will quickly follow the female. There the female will get to know the speed of the male. Most of the times, the male gets tired and try something different and more exciting.

The male ostrich then spreads out its wings and waves them around using its legs lifting them one by one hoping from one side to the other and using its long neck swinging it around.
This is how the male attracts and impresses the female and indeed it works.
It has always been a myth that ostriches bury their heads in the ground, this is said by lots of people but it's not true the only put their heads in the ground when they are looking for some roots or hiding their eggs from predators but most of the time when predators get close to them especially the females that are incubating the lower their heads to the ground , keep Keen and watch the predator or even hide from the predator. When the female has laid the eggs both the male and female take turns in keeping this the egg safe especially the male he has to continue his generation by keeping them safe this text about 6 weeks until the eggs hatch. One by one they hatch, all of them may survive but usually one dies. The parents spend the next 9 months taking care of them, feeding them teaching them how to survive and teaching them how to be the fastest birds on the ground.

They have the longest necks that help them reach for food both on the ground and in high shrubs. Ostriches have no teeth so they cannot chew food. This makes them swallow their food whole. Good enough the ostrich has three stomachs with one of the stomachs being the gizzard. To supplement their diet, the ostriches have to eat small stones that will help in the breaking down of some foods in the gizzard.
When the foods rich the gizzard it is then grind to form energy with the help of the stones. One thing you should know about birds is that they do not sweat, so to keep cool they have to spread out their wings and let the Cool breeze touch their skin and this is how they cool down from the hush weather.
