Greetings team uganda!
Today i woke up pretty hyped as it was the day set apart for my friend's traditional wedding (locally called kwanjula).
She wanted everything to move smoothly so she had planned that we arrive early so that the groom and his team would arrive early too. They were told to arrive at 11am. So by 10am, me and my other friends were ready, make up done, dressed up and waiting to be picked up so we head to the venue in ntinda.
Unfortunately, the matron called to let us know that the venue wasn't set up yet. The decor person was a whole mess and the decor hadn't been done at all and it was already 10am. You can imagine how stressed out the bride was. The groom and his team arrived and they were told to go back 😳😳
Anyways later after tears and pulling strings here and there and doing some mediocre decoration,we were set to start the function. It was already 2pm. The groom and his team arrived, got settled in and the function began. Of course there were countless teams of people coming in to greet, (you know how we do it the ugandan way).
Then the ssenga (paternal aunt) came in to pick out the groom.
Then lunch was served. It was beautiful food with lots of juice. I was so busy at lunch because i had to eat as well as feed my 3 year old niece. After lunch, the bride came out for the first time. Excuse my poor quality pictures but the girl was looking like gold 😍
We had David Lutalo entertaining us.
The bride came out the second time to receive the gifts brought by the groom.
Meanwhile Spice Diana was doing her thing.
The bride then came out to receive her engagement ring. This girl's clothes you guys... so beautiful! You could literally smell money off them 😒
After the engagement is usually cake.
Then the bride came out for the last time with a basket of gifts for the groom. Did i mention how all her outfits were beautiful? My camera didn't do her justice 😪
Goodbyes were said and each person on the groom's team received a gift bag as they left. It was a beautiful day, although there were setbacks but am grateful that all in all the function happened.
Keep steeming!
Amazing, you looked pretty good and beautiful in that cultural attire.
Even the party settings appears to be kawa👍👍👍
