HOW I MADE A SIMPLE DRESS(PART 1):

Hello steemians!!
Hope you’re well and making the best of this life.
Just wanted to share some inspiration on how I made a dress today👗.

Making a dress is quite simple to me because I’ve actually made several dresses. The experience I’ve gained makes my work quite simple. After several attempts of sewing dresses, I must say sewing has become something I do. I do it for a living and I also make myself custom clothes for wearing. Making myself clothes I wear has been one of the strategies I use for marketing my brand.
So today I just wanted to show you how I came up with a simple dress that is ready for wear.

First of all I needed to decide whether it should be a casual dress for the weekend or an official dress.
Well I opted for something that could suit both the occasions. What would make this dress suit to casual or official would depend on the shoes I choose and also the accessories I would accompany it with.
I love to design something that is unique and sophisticated. You know clothes easily tell the kind of personality that you have. Therefore I’m very skeptical when choosing designs for the dresses I wear.
I love simple, unique, feminine and sophisticated style because it actually represents who i am.

Secondly, I needed to take my body measurements for drafting the dress.
I measured the following;
-neck
-shoulder
-chest
-standard burst
-waist
-back
-armhole
-sleeve size
-sleeve length
-dress length

The next step I did was to draft design of the dress using the above measured parts.
I must say that this step is key because it determines two things; the fitting of the dress and also articulately capturing the design.
So I produced the following parts for the dress:
-the front upper part
-the back upper part
-the lower part(skirt)
-the sleeves
-the linings

Lastly I sewed the pieces together, this is the easiest and fun part in garment production.
