The event started at 10am. I left hostel at 9:20 so that I can get a seat. By the time I arrived, there were still some seats at the front and so I went and sat in front. At exactly 10am, the service started.
We were graced with the presence of the most Rev. Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, the Arch bishop of C.O.U.
THE PROGRAM
ORDER OF SERVICE
We had some hyms and prayers and when the time came, the church was consecrated following the order below;
√ CONSECRATION OF THE BAPTISM FONT
√ CONSECRATION OF THE PULPIT
√ CONSECRATION OF THE PRAYER DESK
√ CONSECRATION OF THR LORD'S TABLE
√ CONSECRATION OF THE COMMUNION VESSELS
√ DEDICATION OF THE SEATS
√ DEDICATION OF THE COLLECTION VESSELS
√ CONSECRATION OF THE CROSS
√ CONSECRATION OF THE CHURCH BIBLE
√ CONSECRATION OF MUSIC INSTRUMENTS
√ CONSECRATION PRAYER FOR THE WHOLE BUILDING
I am not a fun of speeches but the Arch bishop's speech had me laughing my lungs out. The way he preached speaker volumes to the mind and soul. One thing he said was, "The thing behind the thing is the real thing" Meaning that people tend to show us what we want to see but what is actually in their hearts is the real deal.
The service was supposed to end at 1pm but because of the speeches, it stretched till 3:30pm. It was at that point that I left church and headed back to hostel.
It was a long service and although I felt so tired, I was able to make to the end of the service without dozing at all😂.
