Astro World Festival is a concert that held by Travis Scott an American Rapper. This concert happens every 5th- 6th November every year. The tickets for this concert were sold in May 2021 and they sold out within an hour of going live. The festival was this year was held in Houston, Texas and about 50,000 people were hosted.
People were enjoying the concert on Friday 5th, 2021 when an unfortunate event happened. When Travis Scott came on stage people started pushing forward towards the stage and a stampede was caused where many people were injured as some collapsed, there were cases of cardiac arrests. Sadly, there were also fatalities as there were 8 deaths.
Sadly, the youngest of those who passed on was a 14 year old. Those who passed on were between the ages between 14 to 27years. The police was quick to come to their rescue as a temporary hospital was set up where the injured people were given aid however others were badly off and had to be rushed to hospital.
Various people sent out their condolences on various social media platforms to the grieving families. Authorities promised to carry out further investigations to seek out what the real cause of the stampede was. Videos were circulating showing Travis’ response as he allegedly was continuing the show despite the fact that some people were dying.
It was allegedly reported that he told the people that they know what they came to do, as he noticed that their attention was swayed. He finally sent out official statements on social platforms expressing how how sad he was about what occurred at his concert and promised that authorities are working to figure the actual cause of the incident. He also sent out his condolences to those that lost their loved ones.
