Hello Steemians. Hope your holding up well.
Uganda got affected by a few cases of COVID in the first wave which was in March 2020. Other countries were having it really bad but Uganda had very few cases and majority of which were foreigners.

This made most people relax in the measures as we were sure that we were safe. However, everything turned around recently when the numbers rose to an all time high and people were dying.
In the first lockdown very few people had people they knew personally who had COVID. However, this time round people had close people they knew that had it, in that people started carrying out the precautions without even being told to do so.
These high numbers of COVID patients and deaths led to the 2nd lockdown which started as lax measures then it was announced later on that stricter measures were to apply like;
1) Curfew was to start at 7pm with some exceptions though.
2) Crossing borders into other districts was stopped which saw businesses like bus and taxi traansportation come to a halt. Boda bodas can move though not with passengers and their curfew is at 5pm.
Most people are now working from home which is both a good and a bad thing in the that;
It is good because;
1) This is kinda preparing us for the future where most people are going to be working from except for jobs that really require physical presence like doctors etc.
2) This has cut down costs for people as a substantial amount of some peoples’ salary is spent on transportation costs and meals however all this is being minimized since people work from home.
The downside though is that;
1) Physical presence is still required at some work places and since public means of transportation have been closed, if one has no private means then they have to walk long distances to get to work.
Lockdown has caused some harsh conditions in some work places as people like market vendors have to sleep at their places of work thus missing out on the comfort of their homes and missing their loved ones.

The lockdown has affected me in the sense that it has made me appreciate Steemit as a platform that I work on to use my time appropriately.
The lockdown has also caused me to try and be consistent on various plaforms that I am on so that I can look back at the end of lockdown and be proud of the work that I have invested in the various areas that I want to grow in.
Lockdown has seen me spend a lot of time in doors and that has pushed me to go for walks and try to workout to keep my body active.
It has also made me more cautious of the meals I take as each meal that is taken has to contribute to boosting the immune system so that it can be strong. Therefore whatever budget is being worked with has to incorporate atleast some vegetables and fruits.
Lockdown has made me really conscious of my mental health because there is so much going on; like people losing loved ones, worrying about how to survive, worrying about loved ones that are sick among others therefore one has to take time off to appreciate all the blessings around them so that they do not get depressed by all the negative things happening.
Truhfully I am really grateful for all the blessings I have and it is my prayer that all the people that suffering through this lockdown in one way or another that God provides.
Hi Mercy
The lockdown is indeed tough for many Ugandans now. We are blessed to be among the lucky few Ugandans who are already venturing and exploring online working opportunities. This is indeed the future and the earlier we embrace and use it the better.
Thanks for taking part in the contest.
