From Wuhan China, there is a new strain of virus from the coronavirus (flu) family. The virus spread around the world from one country to another and it kept on spreading very fast. It wasn't long before the WHO decleared it as a pandemic. This wasn't the only story of the year, I will be saying more about the year 2020. Lockdown was innitiated worldwide according to the government of different countries and widelife started to come out to occupy roads and other places.
From one country to another, there is a story to say about the year 2020 but the pandemic was what brought all together under one umbrella. In India, farmers protested over a bill passed by the paliament and like it is known, most of the farmers in india are aged.
Just in, Parasite also won the Oscar awards for best pictures being the first movie not in english. Oscar is known to be an award for big boys in the movie inustry and Parasite made it there. The year 2020 was filled with different events, even the royal family of England felt the heat with Prince Harry and Meghan stepping down the royal family. Also, TicTok had a fair share as it was sanctioned by the united state and Microsoft wanted to buy its US wing of it.
Then Gorge Floyd death brought to live again the #blacklivesmatter From Atlanta, Belarus, Washington, and so on. On the topic of protesting, Nigeria also protested police brutality and impunity. In Poland, girl power was another movement.
So disturbing is the Beirut Blast which killed over 70 people and injured Thousand, the wildfire in colorado and Australia, destroying thousands of hectares of lands, as well as hurricane destroying properties in New Orleans, Locust outbreak in India and Pakistan, and the death tolls still increased from all the events.
The US and SpaceX sent astrounauts to the ISS, and the US election did the final touch as a new president beeat an incubent president with little margin. Joe Biden beat Donald Trump in the elections.
