Traditionally most of the people worldwide use centralized social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter (X), Instagram etc. for interacting with others. These social media platforms are controlled by big companies who controls everything like what should be displayed and what not. Blockchain based platforms like Steem and Hive have changed things in a significant manner. There one can enjoy the benefit of using social media platforms along with earning potentials. Also there is no ban on type of content which is the common feature of the traditional social media.

Despite all such benefits people are still using centralized platforms. Only a small portion of world's population is familiar with such blockchain based platforms. There is a huge potential behind it but it also depends on the value of their native tokens and user base.

Steem and Hive are much better than Bitcoin as there is no fee for transactions and also their networks are very fast. So, there should be no reason that blockchain based social media platforms cannot perform well compared to other apps.

In order to make Steem and Hive more popular, there is a need to curb abusing behaviour like spamming, scamming, plagiarism etc. Also, it should be kept in mind that ordinary people come here for enjoyment and also to earn something. So, they should be encouraged and their minor mistakes should be ignored. Unnecessary flagging should not be done. Also, only a few big whales are earning a lot. There should be a mechanism to give lions share to only a few people.

This time Hive is gaining some popularity. Its price has reached beyond $0.6 once again within a few days. I with it may go over $1. That will be a real thing for it.
