Based on the premises previously discussed in previous posts, where we talked about the binomial formed by the environment and social responsibility under a broad definition of the contributions that at the organizational level exert one on the other, if we frame these guidelines in agribusiness as a model to promote social effort, taking into account sustainable development as an ethical concept that should prevail in all organizations, we will surely obtain better productive results.

Thematic development

Social responsibility in agribusiness, circumscribes dimensions that influence performance, and that can achieve competitive advantages, trying to minimize the negative effects that certain aspects of this type of organization cause in the environment.

With the development of social responsibility, agribusinesses, in addition to carrying out good practices in their activities, could be considered socially responsible agents and therefore improve their corporate image, prestige and reputation.

Some authors refer to social responsibility as the degree of obligations that an organization assumes through actions that protect and improve the welfare of society.

Closing of the theme

Social responsibility in agribusinesses means carrying out the activity without limiting itself exclusively to the legal or regulatory limits in force, but rather responding to the requirements or demands of the various social groups that converge in its agro-productive system, which is why agribusinesses will be socially responsible when they react more or less voluntarily to the requirements of social groups, not only because of legal imperatives.

Key words: organizational, agribusiness, socially ethical development.

It is undoubtedly very important for all social groups working in the agricultural sector that agribusiness is based on the notion that the permanent objective should not only be production and profitability, but also the impact of the business model on the welfare of society.

@emiliomoron, these problems are less visible in developed countries, while in developing countries there are big differences in terms of business model and social welfare. Thanks for commenting.

Thank you for your support.

Very interesting topic @alaiza, I understand perfectly when you refer to the social and ethical responsibility that agricultural producers must manifest, especially because they are precisely the first link in the food supply chain for the population.

As you point out, it is not only about complying with legal requirements, but going further and focusing its activity on compliance with the moral and ethical standards of the community where they develop their productive activity.

@karupanocitizen, exactly, agribusiness is an important part of the first link in the food chain that you mention, in developed countries these problems are less visible, however, in developing countries there are big differences. Thank you for commenting.
