Thematic development

It is important to highlight that Venezuela has lived through a severe structural crisis in the last decades and it is this, in general terms, what the Economic and Social Development Plan of the Nation deals with. This project invokes the protagonist participation of the Venezuelan people and is instituting the solid bases for national growth and development, consolidating the bases for effective opportunities and social equity of the territorial and environmental sustainable dynamics.

The agribusiness sector is one of the main environmental problems that Venezuela is going through, if we reflect that the growing demand for agricultural and livestock goods and services puts direct pressure on the ecosystems of the Venezuelan territory. Before continuing, I will mention that the environmental problems generated by agribusiness can be grouped into 4 aspects: (1) alteration of ecosystems, (2) affectation of natural resources, (3) inappropriate handling of food, and (4) negative socioeconomic impacts on the population.

These four problems mentioned in the previous paragraph, produce direct impacts as in the whole territory of agricultural and livestock vocation in Venezuela, including: deterioration of local ecosystems, excessive use of water and energy, soil degradation, reduction of local biodiversity, increased waste generation (organic, chemical and toxic), excessive use of chemical inputs in food, mistreatment of wildlife, displacement of local labor, and impoverishment of the regional economy.

Closing of the theme

Through organizational social responsibility, it should be observed as a matter of utmost care in agribusiness, and lead strategies through ethical and transparent behavior that contributes to sustainable development, including the health and welfare of society, that takes into consideration the expectations of its stakeholders, that complies with applicable legislation and is consistent with international standards of behavior.

Key words: organizational, modernity, structural crisis, environmental impact, agribusiness, Venezuela.

Hello @alaiza, what a wonderful post..!
It is unfortunate what we see in vzla in terms of the agricultural productive apparatus that has been directly and indirectly affected, no matter how much recovery policies are decreed and established, we will not be able to recover what has been lost, and the results in the near future are imminent.

A change in the order of ideas and intentions has to come that radically redirects the deserved financial investment in the national agricultural sector and in the same sense, production policies must be adjusted to the reality and true needs of the nation.

See you.

Hello @tocho2, it is true what you say, it is very sad to see the delicate situation in which the agricultural and livestock sector of our country is, and where the most affected area is in technical bankruptcy. Thank you for your comment.

Greetings @alaiza, there is no doubt that agribusiness in Venezuela has generated great impacts on the environment, especially those related to air and water pollution, solid waste disposal and changes in land use. I had the opportunity to visit several dairy producers in my region, and the management of effluents and waste left much to be desired, they were only concerned about production, at the expense of the pressure they were exerting on the ecosystem.

Hi @emiliomoron, you know that in addition to effluents and waste besides the dairy sector, slaughterhouses also incur in these irrational practices. Thank you for your comment.

Greetings @alaiza, This agro-industrial crisis is increasing every day and with it the deterioration of the environment is multiplying, therefore there must be a complete change in the policies applied to the field and also be accompanied by an improvement of the basic services of the sector, ranging from food security of the peasant labor force to the personal safety of farmers.
