In the days of the Roman rule, the roman citizens were working and getting paid for their jobs but then, people started replacing the citizen labor for slaves as they did not have to pay slaves for their work but needed to pay citizens for the works they were doing. This improved the economy of Rome but Affected the citizens welfare so the government decided to start giving free food to its citizens, enough to feed a person or family as well entertainment for them. This really improved the living of the citizens as they were able to sought out their daily needs.
Going away from the Roman days and now we are about to have a repeat, as robots are gradually taking over human's jobs. I have asked a lot of people about doing a job for the money and doing a job for the love of it. A lot of people love their jobs and even though it is very stressful, they just love doing it over and over again. Asides loving their job, we all need the money to live our lives and accomplish a lot of goals set ahead of us so we just need to work. The government, the people, the businesses have been a thing of humans as humans work in for a business owned by a human to get paid money as wages for work which is used to purchase goods and services provided by the business and both party pay taxes to the government but this is going to change anytime soon as people will soon not be working thereby cutting the wages paid to human employees because robots will take over their jobs, and with this, employees can't pay taxes to the government, also employees can't buy product as there will be no funds to purchase goods but then one solution can be proposed and that is UBI.
Universal Basic Income (UBI) is a government distributed payment paid on a regular, required to sought out basic needs of its citizens. a lot of controversies have existed over UBI with the bone of contention being where will the government make more money? This is simple, since the employers are cutting away the employees, the government could start taxing for automation usage in a business, thereby creating a balance. In a socialist economy, it can be very easy to work on UBI as the government owns everything in the state but for capitalist states, it will require taxes to set a balance.
There are going to be increased production for business owners as the bots can work for hours without getting tired, and there will be increase in the GDP of the country as the government finance basic funds for expenses which will still be taxed from both businesses and humans while improving the economy of the country. Well, this is just a calculated thought from me, and no doubt, people will have a different view to do, I will appreciate if you can share your view on Automation and Universal Basic income.
