Omicron a real threat.

Greetings to all my dear readers and followers of this valuable community, continuing with my publications today I will be addressing a topic that is currently in the global spotlight and it is the new variant of the Omicron coronavirus, this new variant is much more contagious than the previous ones and much more dangerous.

This new variant of the coronavirus that emerged in South Africa, was classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a very dangerous variant due to its high level of contagion, this situation suggests that it must also be much more deadly than the previous variants that have emerged from this deadly disease, no doubt that the coronavirus has caused many deaths in the world and all the efforts that have been made to try to control it have not been positive.

This new variant of the coronavirus called Omicron (B.1.1.529), has shown a quite dangerous genomic sequence as it mutates 55 times more than the original Wuhan variant and the most relevant thing is that 32 of these mutations are located in the S proteins or spicule, that is to say, it has a high level of infection of the cells and the immune responses. For all these reasons, this variant is classified as high risk and extreme biosecurity measures must be taken to avoid infection with this new strain.

Since the appearance of this new variant of the coronavirus in South Africa, the countries of the European continent began to take very serious biosecurity measures, among the most relevant is the closure of commercial flights from South Africa to prevent the virus from spreading, but the measures taken have not worked and there have already been cases of this Omicron variant in Europe and even in Latin America, specifically in Brazil, two positive cases have already been confirmed. This situation is quite alarming because it is not even 15 days since this variant appeared and it has already spread to almost all continents.

For all of the above I must say that Omicron is a real threat and we must take care of ourselves and our loved ones, I believe that the steps that have been taken to return to normality even though the coronavirus is still active must be reconsidered and take strict measures, such as mandatory confinement, the mandatory use of the mouth guard, among all that we already know if we do not do this we can run the risk of returning to suffer countless deaths in the world as a result of this deadly virus.
