Greetings to all my dear readers and followers of this prestigious community, continuing with my publications today I will share with you a relevant topic that has to do with the vaccines against COVID-19 and it is about the powerful vaccine Sputnik K and it is that this vaccine is presenting an important shortage.
Since the arrival of COVID-19, the different countries of the world together with the World Health Organization have tried by all means to stop the chain of contagion of this deadly virus, all this through biosecurity strategies that have been effective, they have also complemented these strategies with the implementation of mass vaccination with different vaccines that have been created to combat this virus.
The arrival of the vaccines against COVID-19, which were created at an incredible speed that had never been recorded in history, has marked a before and after in the fight against this deadly pandemic that has already claimed the lives of millions of people in the world. One of the main difficulties in the process of developing these vaccines has been the impossibility of being able to produce them on a large scale, which has generated many difficulties in the battle that is currently being waged.

The first vaccine to be registered in the world against COVID-19 was the Russian vaccine Sputnik V on August 11, 2020, but the lack of data on its composition generated many doubts at the beginning. Once the results of the third phase of this vaccine were presented in the scientific journal The Lancet which indicated that this vaccine has 92% protection, interest in obtaining it grew immediately, motivated by this situation, the Russian Direct Investment Fund, which is responsible for marketing Sputnik V, affirms that more than 69 countries have authorized the use of this vaccine.
The reason why this vaccine is very scarce at the present time is that unlike other two-dose vaccines, Sputnik V has different components in the first and second doses, the countries that have acquired the first dose have complained because they have not received the quantities of vaccine agreed for both doses, As a result, people who have already been vaccinated with the first dose have not been able to receive the second dose and complete their full immunization, due to the fact that the second dose has been produced on a smaller scale.

Greetings dear @carlir it is surprising how we have managed to develop a process of vaccine development in an accelerated and rapid way when it is known that this process can take even up to 10 years between testing and evaluation of effectiveness, however, before the deadly of covid-19 was achieved in record time recording less than 1 year for implementation to i seem is great.
Now the point of distribution, I see it more as an economic problem between large nations, because I can not conceive how once generated cost to have access to a vital substance for humanity,
As you mention the Russian vaccine is applied in two doses, now what happens to those people who are placed the first and did not respect the time to place the second by shortage of these? will it have the same effectiveness? are things that tndremos to evaluate over time. Valuable information Professor Ruben

Greetings friend @madridbg, the Sputnik V vaccine once the first dose is placed the waiting period to place the second dose can be up to 90 days, this differs from other vaccines that after applying the first dose must place the second in 21 days.

Greetings, @carlir I share with you the concern about the delay of the Russian vaccine against Covid-19 and even more alarming is the large number of people who are missing the action of that first dose for not achieving full immunization before the 3 months established by WHO, thank you for sharing with us such valuable information.

Hi @sidalim88, the biggest concern is that the amount of vaccine for the second dose is taking longer than expected to reach its destination and to be able to inoculate those who have already received the first dose, causing the effect of the first dose to be lost.

I can understand the delay in most cases as the more effective vaccine the more demand. Here in my city that vaccine came pretty much late. Like in July I suppose. So we kind of used the covishield and the covaxin here. It had pretty good results too. I think sputnik is effective then more and more people would be taking it. I heard the same about the johnson and johnson too. Most were doing good against the delta variant.

Hi @skysnap, certainly in many countries has been delayed in arriving by the high demand that the Sputnik V has had for its high reliability to all variables of the covid-19, I think it appropriate that under this situation should be taken corrective and to produce a larger quantity.
