To answer this question, it is necessary to describe a scenario under the perspective of consumption and demand for hydrocarbons, as this can have a positive influence on the effects of climate change and warming but in the long term, as the covid -19 pandemic has only provided us with a very short time with low greenhouse gas emissions so that the planet can regenerate.
To understand that this short time of the extended quarantine product of covid-19 is not enough time for our planet to regenerate I present you the following example:
Suppose an individual spends 5 years eating high fat food and achieves morbid obesity that can put him/her at risk of death.
If that person lasted 5 years consuming high fat food and with physical inactivity, do you think that in 4 months you will be able to recover a stable weight that will get you out of that risk of death?
The logical thing to do would be to think that if you lasted that long consuming fat and being inactive, then spend the same time (5 years) exercising and eating healthy in order to regain your health.
Similarly, our planet has since the time of the industrial revolution polluting the air with carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and other greenhouse gases, very badly think that if the planet has ever been to this pollution for so long, then now in a short time we intend to achieve recovery in such a short time.
While it is true that in this short time in which the covid-19 has lasted there has been a notable decrease in greenhouse gas emissions, it is not enough time for the planet to be completely healed.
The favourable scenario for the regeneration of our planet and that will finally be able to abolish the phenomenon of global warming and climate change lies in achieving that technology and science can advance towards a new form of energy that is potentially superior to energy derived from hydrocarbons and can displace and replace hydrocarbons completely.
Renewable energies such as wind, solar, geothermal, hydraulic, among others, have been changing to a level where we still cannot obtain a potential where we have full capacity to replace energy generation derived from hydrocarbons, therefore due to the energy demand that is increasingly required as a product of our lifestyle increasingly adapted to the comfort of a contemporary world, we will continue to exploit more hydrocarbons and emit more greenhouse gases once we manage to recover from this pandemic.
The other thing to consider is that it seems that the recovery of our planet is inversely proportional to the existence of humanity, since it seems that the stability and recovery of our planet depends on our existence, while the human species is with possibilities of continuing to exist not A favorable environment will be generated so that the planet can recover from global warming, the possibilities that the planet will recover from a food that is once humanity can completely cease its activity as we know it today.
Everything is an irreversible process where there is no possibility of a return
They imagine that the human species has the possibility of living as it did in the era where the industrial revolution had not yet developed, with success many think like me, in which I see that possibility remotely, so I think then that if that possibility does not exist, the phenomenon of global warming and climate change may end up being an irreversible process, because there is no possibility that we change completely to a lifestyle without greenhouse gas emissions, where the only thing that controls and regulates us are pandemics like the ones we are currently experiencing, what I really see is a rather discouraging future, where we are only going through a transitional period, in which we have seen small favourable results as a result of the confinement to which the covid 19 has us, but which unfortunately once we return to daily activities we will continue to pollute with greenhouse gas emissions.
Conclusion
If we assume the oil industry as a potential industry in decline and that it can reach the end of an era, we could think that then in an emerging energy industry, which at present has not arrived and that it was very important to have as a substitute in order to continue having a modern lifestyle. The ideal would be to find an energy source that is highly potential with zero greenhouse gas emissions and at the same time is low in production cost.
As we all know those ideal conditions have not arrived, so unfortunately I think that once this pandemic passes, the illusions of a planet without the phenomenon of global warming will vanish, it seems that we are devices to extinguish ourselves as a species and let our planet continue to live, or on the contrary continue in that incessant search for an energy source that manages to cover and replace the energy of hydrocarbons.
@carlos84 yes in 2100 or 2150 all our oil resources will be gone , so we have to now explore new renewable energy so that it can help in less global warming and environment clean.

In theory, Venezuela has the largest proven reserves in the world, I think they are around 150 - 200 years old.

That is correct, the heavy and extra heavy oil reserves of the Orinoco Oil Belt represent the largest hydrocarbon reserves in the world, and depending on how these resources are exploited it may be a point for or against all of humanity, the idea is that this resource be exploited in a rational and sustainable manner. Wow! What a very smart and interesting point of view as regards to the present drop in oil price related to global warming. There is actually no doubt that the depletion of the ozone layer which leads to the green house effect causing global warming is definitely as a result of man activities mostly by the burning of fuel.
The reduction of these activities may actually reduce the effect of global warming when compared to the analogy you gave about a fat person who never exercises for 5 years and keeps consuming food that won't help him keep fit.
Some developing countries have even started making use of renewable energy such as solar system to power up most of their devices while some are working on how fuel can be greatly reduced or eradicated for transportation means.
Thanks for sharing this great post with love from @hardaeborla and I hope you have a great day ahead

Certainly friend as the analogy expressed of the person who has lasted so long with bad eating habits and want to pretend that in a short time can lose weight, in the same way we can not pretend to fix the planet, although it is true that the pandemic has helped reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, This time is not enough for all the time we have been releasing these gases, however suddenly this is a turning point for technology to take advantage of the knowledge that we already have about the exploitation of hydrocarbons and simply for example to adopt a technology where free and non-polluting hydrogen can be obtained from oil, and that the remaining carbon can be used for the processing of other goods, is just an idea, but the important thing is to be aware that a change is necessary to innovate towards real potential forms of energy, since the traditional ones such as wind, solar, among others, do not have enough potential to completely replace the potential that oil has in the world to generate energy.
Greetings and thank you for your magnificent contribution to this publication.

This pandemic has brought negative consequences and some positive things; It really is a nuance that can be studied, and that is that the covid-19 has forced us to accelerate many things, from a social and technological point of view.
This change in our way of life was not going to fail to overlook our energy consumption, and that is to reinforce ideas that arose years ago, to look for alternatives to hydrocarbons. It exists and now, more than ever, new scenarios are being accelerated. It is likely to see a change in the future of energy as well, in fact it is not by chance that many of the billionaires are changing their field of investment to greener nergies, leaving these old ones.
However, it is still far to have a complete change and for the moment we will still continue to depend on oil, in one way or another.
Additionally, I want to express my congratulations for such an excellent article, very good.

Hi @carlos84, thanks.
Good reflection, many truths in this publication; It takes more than this pandemis to correct the course we are taking, as you say, until there is no alternative to easy fuels, the world will continue to move in the same way and when the pandemic passes, the gas emission process will accelerate once again.
Hopefully these alternatives you mention can gradually replace what we have now to save the planet.

Likewise it is friend @fucho80, much more is needed to save our planet from the effects of global warming, let's wait for the events that are coming in about 10 more years that I believe will make crucial to predict the fate of our planet and the life of the species that inhabit it. Greetings and thanks for giving your valuable contribution.
