You can lose sight of your vision trying to please people. You shouldn't live your life this way. So many people always feel that urge from deep inside to make their friends and family and almost everyone else happy. That's a terribly wrong way to live your life. It's not your job or your responsibility to make anyone happy. When you can do it comfortably, then it's acceptable. But if you have to put yourself in a bad position, just to please someone else, then that's not good for business and for you.
If you fear that people will leave you because you don't want to do their bidding, then let them go. Sometimes, just because you want to please a person, you cancel on your schedules, postpone important meetings and do several things that will affect your well being and your business severely. You must understand that fundamentally, we are all on our own.
The main reason why you want to please the next person is because you're scared of being alone. And that's something that you have to train yourself to be able to bear, or even enjoy. When it comes to people, I'll tell you something, you can never satisfy them completely. In fact, you can hardly even satisfy yourself completely.

As a business person, you shouldn't cancel your important day's plans for nobody, except it's an absolute emergency or you actually owe that person a favor. That is to say, you're indebted to that person. Most times, no good comes from these things. For example, old friends may call you for a hangout. If it doesn't fit your schedule, you have to say no.
Some people even allow other people tell them what career path to follow, which might not really go down well with them. But because you don't want to hurt their feelings by saying no, you live your life based on another person's design. You have to learn to hold your ground in many situations. And live your life your way.
Except you're a comedian or a clown and you're paid to make people happy, then you don't have to. You're not compelled to. After doing all that you want to do, and you're pleased with yourself, then you make time for other people. I'm not saying that you shouldn't have a social life, but it should be at your control and at your convenience. Time is precious. Don't waste your own time, trying to please someone else.

Many people lose the horizon of their true identity just because they want to please or be as their environment demands, these are behaviors learned from a very young age because of the lack of identity or many times to be accepted where we believe we are rejected.
We assume these personalities or roles that are not ours just to be part of something.

The fear of rejection or being alone is what makes people go out of their ways to please another person. Learning to be comfortable with yourself alone is an important skill.

We cannot please others in everything, because when we please others in everything, they think they deserve everything, and the day we do not have what we have been giving them, then they will not reproach them.

Very true, some people lose themselves because they only care about pleasing everyone around them. A very good article @creativeinsight

This causes people to lose grip of themselves and their purpose on earth. And live to please others, instead of putting yourself and your business first. It's a terrible way to live life.
