I agree with your point about Decentralized social media are mostly open source and some of them are built on blockchain technology unlike centralized social media platforms which happens to be a closed source. The fact that decentralized social media platforms are adopting blockchain technology nowadays makes it more very lovely for me have more interest in Dapps.

Unfortunately decentralized networks are not as well known as centralized ones, but hopefully in some time the reality will be different and people will be able to see the potential we have here in this kind of networks like steemit.
