A woman was sentenced to jail in the Southwark Crown Court in London, United Kingdom; as a result of the evidences that linked her to a Bitcoin fund laundering, that involved lots of billions of dollars.
Wen Jian received a jail sentence of about 7 years in prison on the 24th of May 2024, after she was found guilty of the Bitcoin funds laundering, relating to a cryptocurrency fraud scheme of about $6.4 billion.
Wen Jian, who worked at a fast food company, was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months imprisonment. This particular cryptocurrency fraud scheme, involved theft of about 150 Bitcoin by Jian between 2017 and 2022.
Jian holds both Chinese and British citizenship. Jian has been denying all the accusations that have been made against her. And she's presently seeking an appeal for her conviction. Jian stated that she was a victim in a masterful cryptocurrency fraud scheme.
