When will this pandemic come to an end and when will our world try to return back to normal? At least some normalcy that can make many get back to living their lives?
Here is a quick stat of the Covid-19 cases as it affects Nigeria.
These numbers to me may not be the true figures, but it helps us gain some insights to what we are dealing with.
The Federal Government announced May 4th as the date to start introducing a gradual easing of the lockdown in some states across the country and I fear that may be a mistake.
Why? History about never lies.
Human nature is twisted and cannot be trusted to save itself from self destruct actions and man wants what you tell him he cannot have.
Take a look at the image below and read the words.
This was in 1918 and you can imagine what will happen now with the various social amenities that are available to us now.
New Cases spring up daily.
The graph above, shows the number of new cases as are being gathered by the responsible authorities.
Bear in mind that is not the true figure as, we are a people that practice silence when in pain and can do anything to avoid letting the world know we are in pain.
See some images from the NCDC that tells us about the state of the virus spread and how much more may become news soon.
Why ease the lockdown when it looks like the spread is just beginning to happen in Nigeria?
I have always argued and still stand by my words that, the Nigerian government is the most uncaring and criminally insane anywhere on planet earth.
The government is always composed of touts, nogooders, looters, ex-convicts, known and pardoned criminals and educated illiterates.
Over NGN1trillion was donated by various corporate organizations (most of whom were strong armed) to help fight the pandemic and also to provide palliative for the citizens and all that came out of it and will come out if it is, the constant looting by these people and the blatant disregard for the lives and well-being of the masses.
Covid-19 is just starting to spread now and the government because they don't want to provide any kind of relieve for the masses is easing the lockdown which hasn't exactly been completely a lockdown as, people are still being able to move within state lines all thanks to the corrupt security agencies that collects bribe to allow transporters get in.
I don't think this is a good idea to allow the easing of the lockdown especially since there is no real control to ensure infected people are quarantined and cared for.
The Trillion Naira Questions.
Why ease the lockdown when it looks like the spread is just beginning to happen in Nigeria?
Has the government after their closed door meeting aka Federal Executive Council, decide to reduce the population instead of making sure they live?
How many more finance offices will be burnt down to show that, the monies donated will never be used for the purpose it was intended for?
How much longer before the people take laws into their hands because they cannot support their families?
How many will be out of a job by the end if this week?
IMHO!
Stay home and don't be part of the easing casualty because, thee virus is not gone yet and it will be a mistake to assume because the Nigerian Government announced an easing, everything will be fine.
The government is not that smart and looking around, they didn't exactly provide any means to make things better.
Stay home, stay safe and continue to maintain social distancing until a cute is found or until it is truly over.
Only surpassed by the Venezuelan government.

I don't know much about the situation in Nigeria but this virus is going to be around for a long while yet. There is no cure and it will keep spreading. Looking at the statistics, it would appear it has a long way to go - that if the statistics are close to the truth. Some countries appear to have gone into lockdown very early which may work well if they have sophisticated contract tracing capability. Otherwise, imho, it will just come back even stronger as you suggest.
Stay safe @ejemai

You are right as there seems to be no cure yet in sight.
In Nigeria, the lockdown was eased today and you will not believe the number of people who came out just for the fun of coming oiyt and some are already planning parties and night clubbing.
We do not have the tools and government to put the virus under control. We don't even have isolation centers and the needed equipments like should be had.
It is with hope that we will overcome this period and live a better life after.
Stay safe and stay awesome!
