1. Faulty Battery Or Charger

A bad battery can heat up to danger degrees and even explode if you are not taking it seriouse. If you own a phone with a changable battery, make sure to always buy the exact one made for your phone device and only use approved third party phone chargers.

2. Excessive Usage

The processor of your mobile phone tends to work a lot more and overheat when you are using a lot of apps at the same time on your mobile phone.

3. Internal Damage

There are parts like the thermal paste and heat sink that help the processor to cool down when the phone is hot. If one or both of them get damaged, your phone is more likely to increase in heat.

4. Lack Of Ventilation

Some mobile phones pouches cover up a phone's heat escape vents, making it difficult for the processor and other pats to just dissolve the heat created. Choose a phone pouch that will protect your phone but still have openings for heat to dissolve.

I think the second point is very crucial. A lot of people will continue to use their mobile phones for an extended period of time without giving the phones any break. This will cause it to overheat in the long run.
