"In the perfection of a beautiful voice,
correct breathing is the most important technical prerequisite".

Hello, we continue with our series of three posts on "Good verbal habits ". This time I am writing about "Posture and Breathing ".

I will explain it to you simply. The more stooped you stand or feel, the less air will reach your lungs, the less air in your lungs, the more difficult it is to breathe, and if you breathe badly, you get more tired, pronounce badly, in short, you speak worse. Besides, you give an appearance of insecurity, and in oratory and communication it is of the utmost importance what you convey with your body. So, when you speak with another person or before an audience full of assistants, stand up firmly, stick out your chest and behave like a decent girl or a little gentleman. Do you remember that advice of our aunts and grandmothers? Well, it's very useful in public speaking. No awkward positions. That is, maintain agility, grace or ease in the way of acting and developing ourselves. Maintain your panache, then.

There are many exercises to breathe better. I can invite you to Google, but the idea is that you stay with me and we can practice together. For now I only mention that the ideal is that we breathe with the diaphragm, just like when we were just born, remember? Well, neither do I. That's why we need to learn again. In passing, I would like to mention that when we breathe, what we should lift is our abdomen and not our chest.

If you liked this article share it in your blog or social networks, but not before leaving your comment. Do you breathe properly when you talk? Do you think you can improve your way of breathing and thus enhance your voice when communicating?

Hello @garybilbao
Breathing is the basis of so many things in our lives, it serves to control us, to improve our voice, to relax, for many things, and I really think that very few people are aware of that. It is an apparently simple subject but if we analyze it well we can see the transcendence.
Greetings.
