Excellent post. These days I have been thinking that if we feel proud of our defects, we will never overcome them. So the important thing is to wake up, be aware of our shortcomings and work to overcome them.

And what you say is very true, seeing ourselves as our own enemy gives another dimension to personal development and self-improvement, because it challenges us to be better, to be more every day.
